LR3 Spare Tire Carrier

The only thing I don't like about the Rasta spare tire carrier is the locking mechanism on the bumper. It may work well, but it looks like an afterthought...kind of visually distracting. I wish it had more of a stock look to it.Rasta LR3 spare tire carrier lower plate.jpg

I prefer this design's latching mechanism better. A post sticks up slightly from the top of the rear bumper. I think I like Rasta's tubular design better than the box design of this one. JMO

$1488 including shipping to USA via UPS. As i said it was pretty quick to get here.
Here are a couple shots of the install.

can you snap a photo of the side of your Rasta carrier like the picture below, I want to see how it compares to the one I just finished:

Here you go. The tire is setup perfectly vertical. I like the look of how yours tilts in a little.

Yeah, mine was just like yours when we first mounted it. Although vertical, the curve of the hatch made it look like it was actually tipping forward and I just wasn't feelin' that. So we took the band saw to it to shorten it up and add an angle to it that matched the body angle.

anyone got or seen the kaymar carrier, kind of like that its the whole bumper, as seen in one of the 'misadventure 4wd tv' vidoes when all the trucks ended up ripping part of the rear bumper off, except the LR4 with the kaymar. I contacted Man-a-Fre, the US distributor for Kaymar, they want $2797 for it, didnt realize it was gold plated !!!!!! although the design looks good and having the extra lights in it is a good idea, that and that it still utilizes the reverse sensors

Has anyone had any luck contacting Hard Labor Creek about their option? I've contacted them several times over the past few weeks but cannot get an answer or a reply when I leave a message? I like the looks of theirs the best and don't mind the welding but it seems they are impossible to get in touch with.
