LR3 without airbags??

Alright so I've been hunting for an LR3 and I found this one in California that looks awesome but when I was going through the pics I noticed when I looked at the controls for the terrain response system, the height control lever for the air suspension is not there??? It's just a smooth plastic cover in it's place. Does anyone have any info on this? Did they make US models that have coil suspension instead of air ride? Any help would be appreciated! image.jpgimage.jpg

I've always heard rumors that in late 2004 early 2005 during launch, they mistakenly shipped over 500 LR3's with coil suspension. As opposed to calling them back they opted to sell them to dealership employees at a steep discount. It could be one of those. They did a similar thing when RR Sport came out, they shipped over a few SE's. 18" wheels as opposed to 19, no nav and no memory seat.

I heard there were some made on coils.... but it is more likely a conversion.. PICS!! I also saw one at the local dealer a couple years back with a solid metal roof... that was interesting..

Correct me if I am wrong but I believe Zelatore has a solid roof. EDIT: I may be confusing his with another truck.

I'm only aware of 23 coilers, not 500, and they were specifically ordered as such by LRNA before the 2005 release. They imported those 23 and others with a wide range of options and configuration differences to figure out what the final options package would be for the USA market. Ultimately, the base model, and S (sport) models with coil based suspension did not get selected for the USA market, so those test platforms were sold off. Seeing one with TR and no air suspension is definitely rare in the NAS market! Would be fun to convert into a JeepSpeed kind of rally car

So is this model worth checking out?? It's in Cali I'm in Arizona so not a bad drive. Also, is there a lift kit that goes with the coil setup?

In terms of checking it out, I'm biased (mine is coil converted) bc I think its a damn good looking truck-but other details are important like mileage and maint history.

There are lift kits avail for it; OME's setup is +~2" but there are other options that give you various heights, mostly from Australian companies.

Your two pictures did show up, I was more thinking of a picture of the actual spring strut would reveal if it is factory or aftermarket.

Picture would be good as I know a couple of guys swapped the EAS out and bought the cover to replace the height switches.

Yes I agree, it does have a free CARFAX report which on the maint. side everything has been kept up, however this vehicle was involved in an accident early on in it's mileage but then was driven for about 100k miles after the fact. So I'm wondering if it is in okay shape still ya know?

This is my old truck. It has the AB conversion, new suspension bushings, tires etc. I took pretty good care of it, but within the last month or so it started falling apart.

The truck started to idle rough when cold. The AC would blow fuses with the fan above about half. The final straw was a parking brake fault that would shut down the truck. It's AZ pinstriped to hell also.

I would run from it, I did.

Shoot question my way.

Ahh, unfortunately that particular vehicle didn't have any photos of the actual suspension so I'm not sure if is aftermarket.

Ironically, my site where I had hosted a bunch of photos related to LR3 stuff is no longer online either. I had tons of detailed photos of my stock coiler suspension, as well as aftermarket spring lift modifications I implemented over the years. Unfortunately, all I have online is the photos I used in my for sale add:
