Dont buy a p38 if you can't work on it.

Pretty much. A local independent LR shop owner has a completely baller P38. While it is a street truck only, it is completely awesome. I've thought about buying it but it seems like everytime I'm at his shop, its in there with the hood up.

I know a shop owner with an D1 and his hood is always up. The truck looks better than when it did when it was new.
I think it's more the sign of an enthusiast , rather than the quality of the vehicle. :)

I agree. Don't buy a P38 if you can't work on it. If you can, it is a great truck.

As far as Scotti, he has been a stand-up guy every time I have bought parts from him. He has always worked with me trying to find the best used part he has. He was doing the parts business on the side so you couldn't expect him to get back to you during business hours. He folded up shop because his sanity was worth more than the small amount of money he was making breaking down P38s. Now he can concentrate on a small niche product.

You can definitely trust him.

I'm probably the easiest going laid back dude on the interweb...but for the record, I have over 30 emails between me and "roverscott" on P38 steel rims for my DII. And I'm out $170 since 5/18/2011.

I don't care about the money...and I'm not saying it is the same person, but the circles are small and I owe it to the community to at least bring up.

Now back to the great Lucky8 P38.

I sent scotty over 1200 last year for a pair of aluminum radiators. one of which was a key factor in my cross country move. I was told 3 weeks. 2 months later I ended up having to go through the card company to get my money back as he had gotten so hokey about the ETA of the radiators.

I've also dealt with 4-5 socal locals that used him for parts and services that were screwed in the end.

I do agree that in some cases the Radiator deal went array, it most certainly did in your case and all I can do is apologize for that, as I have several times..Sedat, I am somewhat surprised that your email above indicates that the transaction was with you personally. After spending more time then I care to admit researching this situation you can only imagine my surprise when I realized that, I have never had any dealings with you what so ever. I exchanged email's with Robert last night who is (the customer), and he explained that you have had some really bad luck with plastic radiators, that sucks. I really do understand the sour taste you may have for the aluminum radiator situation. Considering the transaction was between Robert and socausedroverparts, I also understand how you may have been mistaken in regards to the refund. Robert did not have to go back through his card company to get his money back. I issued the refund! Unfortunately, the manufacturer and delivery on the aluminum radiators was very difficult. These were a drop ship item. Hell I still have one pending for a customer, and unfortunately it's been a long time. I have offered the customer his money back, he said he would rather wait...Again I do apologize for the failed Radiator deal. In the email below you can see Roberts response.

"
Scotty. Thanks again for looking into this for me. I'm really sorry our transaction ended up this way. I do want to let you know that I don't hold this against you in any way and certainly will do business again with you in the future! I understand this was completely outside of your control. The holiday and the manufacturer both ganged up on us to make this not work out. "

justaddmtns, I actually have no idea what your talking about!! Your steel wheels were sent to you!! I know you were unhappy with the paint on them but they were not sold to you in like new condition..

JUST SO WERE ALL VERY CLEAR SOCALUSEDROVERPARTS HAS BEEN CLOSED DOWN FOR SOME TIME NOW. I CLOSED THIS BUSINESS DOWN BECAUSE OF SITUATIONS JUST LIKE THIS. WHILE NOT ALL TRANSACTIONS WENT PERFECTLY, 99% OF THEM DID. UNFORTUNATELY SOME FOLKS LIKE TO EXAGGERATE SITUATIONS.

Going forward I really have no interest in responding to these allegations any longer. I have served the community for several years, the majority of my customers are very satisfied with our service. As for you folks who are reading this on the forum, make up your own mind.

FURTHERMORE: YOU FOLKS WHO ARE UNHAPPY WITH OUR SERVICE LEVEL, PLEASE REALIZE THAT YOU ARE HIJACKING THIS BUILD THREAD...

THANK YOU

SCOTTI

Oh ok
I see you're changing your tune now from
socalusedroverparts.com closed this business recently do to health reasons! ...I will say that in the years, while socausedroverparts was open I NEVER had a credit card charge back! That I am proud of.

From what you are saying, you didn't close your old business because of health reasons, but because of people being upset.
twisting statements and posting private messages from your customers isn't the way to defend yourself.
However,I wonder if they gave you permission to post private statements they wrote to you.

As for you folks who are reading this on the forum, make up your own mind.
That's the best way to go. I certainly made up my mind.

This is funny, trying to pass blame for botched transactions onto your "old" business, that is now closed! And we are to be assured that this "new" business you have, is different.

Note I have no business dealings with the above party but do find this quite entertaining.
