Its not a Sportmobile but we all have to start somewhere. I've always wanted a 4x4 van and finally i took the plunge. After looking for some time i found one in Fredericksberg Virginia, I made a gentlemans agreement to purchase if it was all he said it would be, books flights and my wife and i started our journey. I certainly didn't buy the van for the paint job as i like a more inconspicuous vehicle but it had the right stuff for the right price. We got in it and drove the 3500 miles back home without a problem.

Its home, imported and now legally in Canada. Now the fun begins as i search out parts and get it the way i want.

Aluminess front and rear bumpers are now on.
Lights, bushwacker flares, winch, and running boards to be installed next week.

Nice looking rig!

Regarding the paintjob, wait until you get some cactus and mesquite penstriping down the sides and it won't feel so bad to 1/2 bedliner over it :p

How's it kitted inside?

Awesome van!

Why is it that I have this sneaky feeling the owner had a large tribal tattoo on his arm?

That was in town and I was considering it but passed because of the graphics, glad it found a home. How much did you end up getting it for if you dont mind me asking?

Love it.

Don't do running boards. Please.

Hahahaha...one thing it doesn't lack of is looks and attention.

I hate to do running boards but i fear the rock rash from the amount of gravel roads i'm on will look way worse than the black running boards. Sorry man :)

That van is sharp!! I like the loud paint and I love the look of a lifted van with a raised roof, but then again I am a little partial! Congratulations hope your van takes you many happy places!!!

I have a free set of black running boards that were taken off my van you can have, but that would require another trip back to Fredericksburg!

Running boards, no. Rock rails, yes. Use something designed for contact with the ground. I've seen several running boards cave under pressure, damaging the body above.

Finally installed a few more things this past week. Warn 12,000 lb winch, front and rear lights, and flares. Also was able to take the van on a run down to northwestern Montana for the weekend. I've included some pictures from the going to sun road (or Logans Pass) in Glacier National Park. I always love this pass, steep drop offs, tight narrow road and not much for guard rails. Came home over it yesterday and it was snowing! If you look close you can see the road in the back ground cut into the side of the mountain. I guess thats a good sign summer is coming to an end.
