M100 trailer rear leg

I'm a newb on this forum and want to say hello. I've got a 88 Jeep YJ that's well set-up and a 49(ish) M100 Willys in what's becoming an expedition trailer. I've mounted a Maggiolina on top, deep cycle battery, Engel 45 and I'm about to put in a bed slide tomorrow if it finally arrives. In order that my trailer won't tip when the bed slide is out I just added a rear extendable trailer leg. My webpage on the jeep and trailer is here http://www.14kft.com/Pg JeepMenu.htm

Here are the pics of the leg. It was a simple weld in. I added a cross bar to the rear of the leg to give me a decent surface to fix to my frame. I look forward to meeting up with some of you on some adventures!

I'm working on getting my tie downs in place and then figuring out a spot on the front to remount my battery box. Does anybody have a good source for a locking box? Or maybe a steel box that I can weld a hasp onto?

cool. I'm in the westminster area.

Sorry, thanks for the compliment. I was trying to figure out why my pics were coming out in full rez and I didn't read your whole post. Hopefully we'll run into each other on the trail :)

Yup. It took about 3 weeks until they shipped it. It's got two locking positions and is pretty solid.

I like the idea of the bed slide. It make it possible to have a solid top with an RTT , but not the need to hinge it , to load and unload the trailer.

It got to be a PITA to dig anything out of the front of the trailer. Firewood, Propane, etc. With the fridge lashed down on one side of the rear and the maggiolina covering the top and only giving me 8 or so inches of room and my overly large head :sombrero: it became a real issue. I'll let you know how it works when I get it on the trail next week.
