M101 CDN2 Canadian Gov. Surplus Sale...closed bids only

I think I need a bigger truck!
Ok, it pains me to do this, but someone out there needs this trailer more than I do. I desperately WANT this trailer, but if I buy it I will have to live in it for the next few months until my wife forgives me. You should have seen her today when I came home with a new-to me Cobra 29 PLX and a Firestick. This looks to be in near MINT 1992 condition, and is probably the very last Canadian Gov. owned M101 CDN2 1/4 ton trailer for surplus anywhere. I stalked this site for 2 years trying to find one of these...and here it is now that I am done (ha ha, done). Ugh

It looks to be mint, starting bid id $500.00 and it will not last. You must register to bid...takes like 5 minutes. Closed bids only so bids your cash, and cross your fingers.

Sad face.

:(

Someone buy this and make it awesome, for me...please.

Hmmmm. I REALLY want one of these too, and in original condition, but 1600 miles one way is quite a lot of driving.

Yeah, it is 1350 from here too each way. Believe me, I almost pulled the trigger and bid on this last night. LONG drive though...worth it IMHO.

AB has all the good stuff :(

I found 4 or 5 of these trailers when I was looking, and all were in AB or Ontario. The Ontario ones were all from Quebec? ha ha So AB and QC have all the good stuff!!

There is a lot of chatter on the boards I frequent about this trailer. My guess, if you want it...and I mean really want it, you will have to bid high. If it were me, and I was looking still...I would probably go $12-1500.00+. I paid $1200 for mine a few years ago and it was in a lot rougher shape than this one. You are also close... so shipping and or delivery isn't a consideration, or at least not much of one. I would pay $1500+ for this and be happy with the deal (maybe more).

Buy it man, this is probably the last one that will come up for auction...like ever.

Yikes. I figured less than that. There are still ones that come up in the buy and sell here in Cowtown for less than that. I just have never been able to act fast enough cause they seem to get bought up real quick.

I put in a bid but I'm not willing to go that high. Thats almost in the custom trailer build price range.

Yup... more than I would want to spend too. My guess, someone will bid high and get it. I hope for your sake I am wrong...it would be pretty kool to see a local get it considering it probably spent its whole life a few miles away from you in CGY.

Good luck with your bid!!

Thanks! Hopefully people are just window shopping and I pick it up for a good deal. Otherwise I think there are still a few kicking around Alberta I could wait for. I lost out on a few this year for $500-800, so I know they're out there. I read your build thread and I gotta say, I never thought about a wood top. That's something I have the shop to do myself! Metal, not so much. Thanks for the great info!

NO worries man, yeah the wood top was a friends idea.... got to love boat building techniques. Light and strong... good combo.

Looks like Nobody is going to get it. Less than 5 hours before the auction ended they put a recall on the trailer and now its not for sale anymore.
