M1101 Project - Problem with 3/8" hoop mount nut fittings coming loose

The original "hoop" rack on the M1101 trailers are connected by 3/8" bolts into a threaded nut fitting that is "pressed" into the metal. I am not sure how this is done, but it's pretty cool to have them inserted inside the frame like that UNTIL one of them pops loose and simply spins when I try to bolt anything to it. I doubt that I can re-press it into place so that it does not move, so I am looking for alternatives. Not much room to get glue/JB Weld into the frame without drilling (might be a near last resort), and I don't have a welder for spot welding. Last resort will be to punch it out and just bolt through the frame.

Does anyone know a method to get that fitting to stop spinning?

Any and all info greatly appreciated.

Cheers....

It's actually pretty easy to "reset" the threaded insert. Take a look at this video...................

Excellent...thanks mucho! I'll see if I can get that to work, but it looks easy enough. I got past that last night with a workaround for mounting the unistrut - pix to follow.

Well, hurry up. :) Pics don't post themselves!

I need more inspiration!!! Did get my hubs changes to six lug yeasterday, and mounted up the old tires and rims from my suburban.

Old 6 lug rims on my burb, with the craptastic 8 lug Dodge rims..................

So the old 6 lugs from the burb are now on the M1102, and my new rims and tires are on the burb...........

When everything else is finished I'll add electric brakes with parking brake to finish it out. But for now my burb (with it's upgraded brakes and the lighter trailer) stops it just fine.

M1101 Project - Stage 2 - Unistrut Cage

Standard unistrut. Heavy duty braces. Two bolts per upright. Once the cross members are on, will add some plywood decking and it will be rock solid in all directions. The ARB III rooftop tent should be here in a week or so.
