It is nicer than my NO GARAGE, Everything I do on my trailer is delegated by the weather and how many neighbors want to watch.

Bass Pro Loved Me Today!

Broke the bank today - I officially hate this site!

Purchased:

New 3 man tent - Trailer top and RTT are a ways off.
3 burner Coleman stove
5lb propane tank and 5' extension line - on its way from Amazon (Thanks Mark)
Adapter to fill the spent 1lb propane tanks
2 - 5 gallon plastic water tanks (jerry can style)
1 - Matching 5 gallon gas can
Folding camp table

Bought some PVC and T's to try and make two tarp bows. Works pretty well. 1"x3/4" T's and 3/4" PVC tubing. Adds just enough clearance over water and fuel tanks. Will help keep any rain off as well.

Borrowed the front shackle idea from Don Beasley. Slipped on some plastic tubing to prevent clanking.

First Weekend

Heading to a state park about 1.5 hours away this weekend.

Installed the Harbor Freight box last night. As suggested in another build, drilled larger holes for socket to mount to trailer and then smaller holes to mount box. Lots of measuring an drilling. Spaced away from tub to allow brake to work freely but far enough back to allow access to grease fitting for lunette.

Good pictures of the toolbox mount. I never took pictures before I mounted mine so I may steal your photos.

I like the milk crates. I have three and they are almost a perfect fit if you put them from left to right. They hold all of my loose stuff.

You going to go with an external bracket for the propane or store it in the trailer?

I really like the bracket you have on yours. I will probably go internal (in one of the milk) crates for now. If I go external I will need to cut off the heavy duty lifting loops that my frame has front and rear on each side. I thought those hoops would work well for straps of some sort, but they seem in the way. I'd also need to remove the one in the rear to add a rear hitch.

Thanks again for the tip on mounting the box. I thought my 3/8 drill was going to take a dump on me by the time I was done with the step bit used to drill the larger holes. It is solidly mounted!

Another hitch idea

Found this at Harbor Freight. Thinking I could bolt to the rear cross member and use the two holes on the inside to tie into trailer sides or the further in cross member somehow. It is a 3500lb hitch. Smaller - 6" deep and 7 " wide plate. Should be fine for a spare tire carrier.

I had seen one there as well and was thinking of using one on the side of the trailer for mounting items while stationary. Sometimes I get to an area that is not all that level and figured I could use one for a small table, ARB frig stand, etc. Then just take it off and throw it in the trailer when I was done. I think Mark Harley has one or two the he fab'd up on his trailer. If I am not mistaken he even has an umbrella that fits in one.

Figured I could stabilize the hitch bracket with some angle iron to the inner cross member. With this configuration, I wouldn't have to cut off the lifting hoops that run under my trailer from side to side. The angle iron would run just above them.

It's from Harbor Freight. 3500lb hitch bracket

The spare tire carrier was from 4wdhardware or JC Whitney

Skip the Harbor Freight version and check jemstube seller on ebay He makes raw weldable receiver tubes up to 12" long and
2" and 1 1/4" I bought several to mount under my tub for tables, bike rack, umbrella holder, tandem towing and to hang my hot water heater.
They are inexpensive shipped fast and weld nice.

I sleeved my 2" rear reciever and bridged it to the second cross member for strength.
