So since my last post a lot has been going on and havent really been able to purchase any thing but a canvas cover for my trailer. Any way I am Looking to replace my M-416 trailer axle but keep getting conflicting places on where to purchase one and I went to a local trailer shop and they were absolutly no help. So my plan is to keep the hand brake and make it a spring over set up but i want tu upgrade the axle tube size and change the hubs over to match my JK bolt pattern (5x5). I plan on litteraly replacing everything suspension wise because A: it needs it and B: its being driven 3500 miles in 2 months. MY over all plan is to run a 33" tire with a 16 wheel with a 4" backspacing. The suspension I am going to run is going to give the trailer a slight lift. So my main questions are who sells a great axle at the custom lengths and the specs above and have a great reputation? also which of these companies has experience with the M-416 Trailers? - Thanks to all and Happy Wheeling

I went with Redneck trailer supply because they have a local shop, but if you know what you want, I would think that just about any trailer supply place can help you out. Axles aren't very complex.

If you aren't going with electric brakes, why not just rebuild the stock axle and buy adapters to match your jeep's lug pattern? The stock axle is plenty strong. The only reason I bought a new axle was to get the electric brakes.

The axle has some minor damage due to it being outside in New England plus it's the only way my wife will feel comfortable driving it across country without me. Plus the hubs bind a little and I'm not sure why. Disassembled it relubed it and everything along with it still having problems.
