Macro Photography Picture Thread

They look fantastic Jay, but It's not surprising with such an expensive macro kit, just try doing that with an old Russian lens, a length of wood and some gaffer tape.

It would never work, right? I did play last night to try and do the same. My Canon G7 didn't like trying to focus on the element. I used a MF Nikon 55 macro and a prime 50mm, it worked... sort of, but I think taping down the 50mm and mounting the camera like he did would make it easier. If we get snow, I might try it! I will post a pic even if I fail....

Please do, I can't even try, haven't seen snow in 20 years :)

A well-known trick I've used often is simple to reverse a lens (say 50mm) in front of whatever you are using. Works well and IIRC the mag ratio is the ratio of the two lenses (might be wrong there). I did it with tape but you can buy adapter rings that do the job.

Some pics taken whit a "very ordinary" camera...

Picked up a 100mm macro on Saturday and have been having fun playing with it.

I enjoy macro. Putting on the macro lens is like bringing the Rocky Mountains into your sand box..

Eye of frog.

Yeah, there's a lifetime's supply of subject matter in your back yard.

Nice shots, I should blow the dust off my macro gear and get outside for a change.

More practice today at my moms pond. I only fell in once while getting to these, luckily I kept my camera dry!
