I did the led upgrade and didn't think it was that big of a difference, but it sure helped.
Then I got my hands on a surefire led flashlight....
It fits in my pocket and throws more light than my giant maglight.
80 lumens. I got the little g2. 80 lumens. 12 hours of use on a set of batteries.

I'm in the process of thinking how my old mag light mount will work as a shovel mount since I just don't need it anymore.

The TerraLUX LED upgrade is good for like 140-150 lumens. It blows away the Maglite brand "upgrade", which basically sucks. There, I said it. The Maglite brand LED sucks.

I have a new mini light that runs on 1 - cr123a battery. It throws 190 lumens on high.

I received my TerraLUX Maglight upgrade yesterday and popped it in. WOW! What a great upgrade. Nice clean strong light and on top of that, the batteries will now last 10X as long. Nice idea. Thanks.

Got it, hella bright. It shames my 6v Surefire Lumamax L2 on high- that's supposed to be good for 110 lumens, so I buy the 140 lumens claim. Nice to see a new life for that old Maglight.

Yes, but a magcharger flashlight costs about $100. Most people have the regular maglites lying around waiting for an upgrade:)

Yes, well, I just happen to have a MagCharger, so... But I also linked to similar upgrades for standard d-cell mag lights..:)

I suspect the 200 lumen led for the magcharger should retain beam adjustability. It should also run cooler than the standard bulb and of course, as you mentioned, you get 6x runtime.

I ordered one for my 3d mag-lite. One word...Awesome!!

I have a mag charger also, so I might order a bulb for that one as well, it it is anything like the regular mag-lite, I will be impressed.

Thanks guys for the suggestion.
