Mahindra sighted in Denver!

Riding the light rail to work this morning I saw a white Mahindra pickup heading up 14th Street right in front of the convention center. Could have been a 4x4, couldn't really tell. Single cab with what appeared to be a long bed.

Is there a local dealer here? I hadn't heard but then again I haven't been following the Mahindra issue that much.

I saw one last week off of Lincoln and 16th, maybe it was the same one? My brother in law talked to a guy who was driving one and the guy said they are doing testing all over the place. This particular one he saw was loaded down with 2200+ lbs of rubber mats in the bed to test payload and was still able to get 26mpg and cruise right up the mountain passes no sweat. They seem like pretty capable little machines. Very spartan interior but are rumored to start around $20k when they come out.

Hopefully, they improve their quality. On another forum several farmers have posted about all the issues they've had w/Mahindra tractors. Lousy service and parts availability also. I'm signed up for a test drive when one makes it to my area.

Interesting? If thats the case, hopefully they do step it up.

One of the cool things I heard about the Mahindra is that it is built to be easily repaired in the field with basic tools. For example, the diesel fuel system can be manually primed with a little bulb (like on a mow lawner :) so that you dont have to call someone to have the whole system pressurized. I dont have a lot of knowledge about diesels but this sounds like a pretty cool/smart feature for anyone venturing off the beaten path.

Regcabguy, keep us posted on your test drive!

I saw a (maybe that) white Mahindra in Denver too, back in January by the Convention Center & Denver Post. Surprised me too!

I've been seeing it on my commute, driving down Colfax. I've probably come across it half a dozen times, now.

I just saw a white crew cab mahindra on I-70 between Byers and Deer Trail. Not a bad looking truck at all! Can't wait to test drive one and to see some of the hard core expo guys get a hold of one to see what they can do to it

When people spot the Mahindra pickup, they're often surprised by how large it is. It's taller and longer than a 2010 Tacoma, and around 90% as large as a 2010 F150.

A few weeks ago, Mahindra promised that their diesel engine would be approved by the EPA by the end of March. Well, that date has long since passed, with no approval forthcoming.

Once Mahindra gets the green light from EPA, trucks should start shipping from India.

Someone on MercedesShop reported seeing a Mahindra in lower downtown Denver earlier this week. Rode in an old Mahindra diesel jeep in India last week.

Boy, not the one I saw in January in Denver...? It caught my eye because of it's rather diminutive stature, almost like the Intermountain Mini Trucks. The grill was unmistakably Mahindra, but I certainly didn't get the impression it was a near full-size truck...?

Prototype, maybe?

I noticed the one I saw tonight because of the grill. It was heading toward Denver and I was beading towards Limon so I didn't get to pull up next to it and compare it to the size of my truck but it didn't look too big to me

Thanks for that story – these trucks definitely sound like the compact workhorses that a lot of truckers have been waiting for. With no diesel compact pickups, I’m eagerly awaiting for my first test ride.

I saw a white one in a silverthorne parking lot about a month or so ago. I actually stopped for a second because I couldn't figure out what it was. Only figured out what it was after reading this thread and searching the brand.

Anybody can sign up for a test drive on their site. I hope these trucks work out. Everywhere but here you see small diesel trucks. My friend who is not a diesel guy drove a Toyota crewcab diesel 4wd Hilux in Nicaragua. He e-mailed me a shot and was really impressed with that sucker.
