I have not had to do much to the FJ as of late, other than respool my winch line:

It served me well up at Jay Peak, VT when I went up with some buddies for a week of boarding. It saw a lot of the unplowed left lane for the first 100 miles of rt 90 on the way back.

Some pics from the top of Jay on the last and only cear day:

I just ordered a roof top tent from Rovers North, I never thought I would spend this much on a damn tent but it seems to be the best one on the market and I didn't want to buy a $1,300.00 tent every few years so I went for it. I got the series 3, 1400 tent (biggest I can fit with the ARB rack).

Eezi-Awn Series 3 1400 Roof Tent. The Series 3 1400 is the most popular size in the range, offering plenty of space for two and all the features you expect from Eezi Awn. A perfect size to mount facing the back or either side of most vehicles.
Specs.
Dimensions (closed) 48"L x 55"W x 11"H
Dimensions (open) 96"L x 55"W x 51"H
Dimensions (clearance) Add 2-3" to closed length and width for fabric and cover
Weight 128 lbs, including ladder
Mattress 2-1/2" fabric covered foam
Comparable width Double size bed
Color Beige
Options Ladder Extension, Shower Skirt

My brother went with the series 3, 1600 for his 4door jk rubicon, saved a few hundred on shipping because they can stack them on one pallet. I'll post up pics when they get in (about a week or so) and we get them mounted.[/QUOTE]

Those tents are going to be NICE! Was good meeting you guys at the VT event in the fall and staying off the trees on the advanced 4wd session!

Like your FJ. Mine isn't too different, 2008 with ARB front and back. I have an Eez-awn 1800 on my A/T Horizon; it's a great tent. We've camped in CO and UT in 30 degree weather and were very comfortable. My FJ just turned over 90,000 miles, and I like it more than ever. I hope you enjoy yours as much as I do mine.

Thanks! It was great meeting you too. I was almost sure that I was going to crush my rear quater on that last tree haha. Are you going back this year?

Sounds like a nice FJ! Im coming up on 55k on mine and it still has been problem free, its nice to know that @ 90k they don't skip a beat. I am getting pretty good use out of it, but it has only seen snow in Vermont because our winter has been soo mild here in the Philly area...its going up to 62 tomorrow!

I have the same tent on my FJ , worth the extra $$ IMO. Enjoy!

Thanks! I can't wait to get some use out of it.

The tents just showed up here at work, we'll be taking them to our shop around lunch time. I hope to have mine mounted before the weekend so I can get some use out of it this weekend at a local camping party.

Nice choice of tent, Im sure you will love it if you get out to camp frequently. One of the things I did for my ARB tent to make taking it on and off the rack easier was to weld some brackets and captive nuts onto the bottom of the rack. This way you just thread the bolts in through the top of the tent floor and dont need to squeeze your hands between the rack and roof to hold the nut in place. Not sure how yours will mount, but just a suggestion.

Yeah no kidding...It was a small miracle I didn't catch that tree! I am deciding between the VT event and the Southeast event, but probably will opt for VT...hopefully minus all the rain this time.

Build up date

F55prolink3.jpg

A few months ago we got a call from Mike Costa @ Factor55 and we were immediately interested in his new ProLink. We decided to order one for the FJ and we were nothing short of impressed, the ProLink is stout! It is definitely a confidence boost not having to worry about a hook gate staying shut. The install on our steel line was super easy and works well with our roller fairlead.

Around the same time we ordered a Tuffy Security Products Console insert to give us some secure storage as well as a passenger arm rest. We decided to go with the console insert because we are avid hunters and wanted a secure place for firearm storage when needed; we also got tired of the constant complaints about the lack of an arm rest!

As you may have seen in the previous post we currently have an Eezi-Awn Series III 1400 RTT mounted to the ARB rack and have been getting great use out of it camping in Central PA, New River Gorge, WV and even at our SCCA racing events. These tents get a ton of attention from people wanting to know more and are what most of our customers that stop by are interested to see. If anyone is in the area and wants to come give them a look we also have a Series III 1600 mounted to our JK, we understand the importance of checking out one of these in person before taking the plunge.

The FJ is looking good! I saw the Factor55 Pro Link at the Overland Expo, it is on the list of future upgrades for sure.

ARB Sliders

We recently got in these very nice looking ARB sliders for the FJC. Here they are prior to install which was pretty straight forward. They make for a very clean look, yet are purposeful in better protecting the FJC's rockers. They also nicely complete the ARB exterior modification package on the vehicle.

Here are some pics of a new FOURTREKS Hi-Lift mount on our FJC's ARB bumper. We needed to relocate the Hi-Lift from our original Kaymar roof rack mount attachment because it was interfering with the Eezi-Awn RTT.
