This is great build!

Your first addition was roof rack and roof tent. What is the real impact of these changes on your cabin noise level? I have noticed that you later added cover plate above a windshield. How helpful is it? I assume you must hear some whistle noise. Is it very annoying on long trips?

I ran the rack without the wind-deflector for a number of months, and it does make a big difference. With the freedom panels off there is some wind noise, but nothing too crazy. With the panels on, there is not too much wind noise that can be heard in the cabin, and with the radio on, it is not even there. I have done a number of trips with the rack and tent mounted, even cross-country to Utah from PA and it was great.

Now that you have put some miles on the Mopar winter wheels, how do you like them? Has the finish held up? Would you buy them again?

Do you have a link to or can you arrange for purchase for these wheels from your shop?
We don't carry them in our store currently, but we can get them for you. Shoot me a PM if you are interested and looking for pricing. Keep in mind the JK bolt patern is different from the TJ pattern.

Awesome project.

...we were able to mount 2 Goal Zero Boulder 30 Solar panels which are linked together and will recharge our Goal Zero Extreme 350 portable solar power storage unit.

Do the panels charge your aux battery? i.e. in situations where you won't start the Jeep for a few days.

We also got time to install our ARB On-Board High Performance 12 Volt Air Compressor which we mounted to a custom bracket we fabricated
My understanding is you can't run air tools from this. Correct?
If that's the case, what are the advantages over one of the little portable versions that just plug into the cigarette lighter?

Thanks!

The solar panels charge a Goal Zero Power pack where we can plug a number of things in for charging. A setup could easily be created to use the solar panels to charge the aux battery.

This ARB air compressor unit is mostly used for airing tires, but could also be used for air lockers as well. The larger units that can power air tools require an auxiliary tank as well to build sufficient pressure. That is more space than I am willing to give up, and I can get by just fine without air tools. The hard mounted compressor is just more convenient, one flip of my SPOD switch and I can air away, quick and simple.

Gotcha, makes perfect sense.

Thanks, keep up the cool project!
