Kind Sir, my camo boonie hat is lined with tin foil instead of Gore-Tex! :sombrero:

That movie is a strange mashup of Close Encounters, Cocoon and Fawlty Towers!

Alan has been sending me more photos that I have added to the blog. One that made me laugh is now self-dubbed "Mall Ninja of the East Mojave". What's not to make you grin when you have a scoped 10/22?

Another great photo is in the best mine whose exit dropped let us out just a little north of our camp.

Good laughs here. Nothing wrong with a scoped 10/22 takedown or foil for that matter. I like to wrap my entire 10/22 in foil. Shoots aliens and UFOs much better.

You'll hit more UFOs if you dress tacti-cool too..... On a practical note, I would rather tear up military clothing around old mines than my expensive clothing from outdoorsie malls such as REI.

PS: the firearm in the photo is not a takedown model, but you could have been there in person to see it, LOL.

Mike did not record any of the video downlink and likewise I did not take any screen shots of what he had on the display. I'll try to do so on the next trip!

I took a few photos of the display, but got too much glare coming off the sun.

Thanks for the link to the blog! I enjoyed it.

When I was a kid I had a blast exploring mines around Quartzite, AZ with my dad and uncle. Always enjoyed wandering around the old ruins and exploring deep inside the mines. Thought it was crazy that stuff like that was still around and not completely boarded up or fenced. Growing up in Georgia, anything that was remotely dangerous was sealed, gated, fenced, or generally impossible to get to.

I hope to make a trip out west again soon and be able to explore some of these amazing desert finds.
