Sorry, I don't know anything about their planned route. I have no direct contact to them. I just forwarded the info about the thread here, and the contact info some of the ExPo member sent by PM to me, to them.

Must be a little different driving that big rig for low lock camping. Was kind of wondering how that fits on the offhighway trails. (as we have plenty of our own tight moments.)

This truck is not that large. But of course, they cannot go where you can go with a Jeep. But I am also sure that there are enough nice spots that you can reach with it so that you are not able to visit all of them in a lifetime.

And you can go with this trucks into areas where you would have problems with a smaller car. So you are not really limited, you just visit different places.

I sent them a email, hoping that if they come to Northern California we can set up a meeting. I read that they are on their way to Yosemite. That puts them about 2.5 hours away. I hope that I will get the chance to meet with them.

A great trip but why drag a 12 L diesel all around the world, surely something smaller would still work.

Yes, of course. You can also go by foot or by bicycle. :D

Everybody has his own way to enjoy life.

Nice report:
Most who dont know German, probably guessed by now, lots of fuelprice reporting going on. Another highlight would be how to turbopee in order to avoid getting bitten by bloodsucking insects. Stories about skeeters. And daylight at night. Quiet a lot of wildlife sighting next to oilbusinesssightings. Bread: finally found some good bread once (well Walmart doesnt sell that good stuff.)
