Map Lights (Mr Brady?)

In my search for some nice map lights for the interior of the 60 I have found some quality stuff out there for affordable prices. My question here is what are all of you guys using? Scotty has some super cool, super pricey, setup in his taco that is way overboard but totally worth it. Who's the manufacturer on that one Scott?

How about an "Interior Lighting Shootout" in a future issue of OJ?

You have a 60 series? Georges LED's. http://www.taskled.com/ I think he makes stuff for 60 series.

I have his LED's in all my domes and OEM map light. No need for anything else. Super super bright.. the map light is almost TOO bright!

I planned on Buying Georges LED's for the domes but I'm looking for something a little less intrusive to the other occupants in the cabin. Like when the wife or daughter want to read at night without waking everyone else with full on overhead lights. Besides, I can't drive with dome lights on now I'd freak if they were brighter.

Yeah if you dont want both passengers knowing the lights on, you're right.. don't get his map light LOL. People think we are on some goofy reality show or something when Yosh uses my map light on the freeway.

Have you checked out HELLA's?

The led versions look like they switch between red and white... that's a bonus.
Haven't seen one up close, but that does seem cool. My halogen has a red filter that slides in, sort of like the Hella ones. It also has a dimmer, so I can keep the intensity low and don't generally find that I need the red filter. But I've had the shotgun rider use it a few times to navigate or read. Works pretty well for that and doesn't distract me while I'm driving.

I use a Littlite L5/18 halogen lamp. I've had it a few years, they have LED ones now that I'd probably go with instead.

We use these on the lecterns in the electronic classrooms at the college, with the red/white LEDs. They are plenty bright, and I have not seen them broken/damaged/vandalized yet. They look like a good product to consider for a map light, or a reading light in a camper or cap.

I got it because I remembered from the back seat that they often use them in cop cars. Plus, they are made in Hamburg, Michigan, US of A.

I have a couple of the Hella's but mine predate that model. Mine have round heads and a shutter so you can control the amount of light. One of mine is about 24 years old and been in 6 different vehicles over the years.

Um, care to elaborate?
I got to sit on my hands once, thru no fault of my own other than trusting the DMV to do their job.

oh yeah, the flexi-stalk light I use in Patch came from a cop car. I've no idea who made it (no name anywhere), but it uses an 1156 bulb. About 12" of flex length. Got it at the Pomona Swap Meet. Wish I could find another one.
