Max Coupler Wearing Out

Next time somebody begs for replacement parts via email, ask CU Offroad when they will build a real website. After doing nothing for 10+ years they could even open a storefront on EBay or Amazon and use their cellphones to post actual pictures.

Even I would write a glowing review for that minor accomplishment. 🤣
Honest question - why stick with Max Coupler after 10 years of strife?

When I initially had problems with mine, I read this thread and feared that CU Offroad would not take care of me. I shopped and was prepared to buy a Lock n Roll, Ark, Cruisemaster, etc., there are lots of good options out there… even a well tuned ball works great. Thankfully, CU Offroad came through with support and even seemed willing to honor their warranty, if it came to that. Yes, their website is archaic and email can take a day or two, but I assume they have a pretty small operation, it’s pretty small market after all.

It's not "ten years of strife". I don't think you read any of the first posts which were highlighting the ************ way CU Offroad treated me for simply trying to buy spare parts. (In fact, I doubt you even read this year's posts). In the beginning I quoted their prickly email responses and I really wish I had a recording of the angry, screaming and abusive phone call Chris placed to me.

This thread went along with maybe a year and a half of other folks chiming in including Dstock, many having the same issues as I did. By 2020 this thread had gone silent. After FOUR years it was bumped in May of this year by Dstock trying to get spare parts! Same old problem with CU Offroad. I looked at CU's website, saw little change but I provided a pretty neutral response which you didn't read so I'll quote it for you:

"Wow, this is an old thread! :) I just looked at CU Offroad's web site and it's still pretty basic and still has no mention of spare parts. All you can do is try calling and see if they can help you. Let us know. I hope they are more friendly these days as they have a useful product that's made in America.

The last model of the hitch I bought was the easiest to hook up compared to the previous version I owned. It's still on my trailer still and requires cleaning and re-greasing after each trip because the surfaces between the moving parts are not sealed. I've not heard of anyone doing the leg work to find replacement bushings from another source but that might truly be worth the effort
."

No strife in anything I wrote. That's something that you are trying to inject here.

I have too much money tied up in my Max Coupler to replace it soon. I clean it obsessively and lube it the same way. I tell everyone to do that but I guess that is "strife" in your book.

@dstock, I was able to order a set of replacement bushings via email with CU Offroad. $20 shipped.
Thanks for the info, been away from the computer for a few days. When I was looking, I came across the Energy Suspension bushing but was out of stock or discontinued, can't remember.

I will hit up CU and see what happens...
