I know a guy with a Canter that's 1.5 ton overweight and he still swears by them. Brad , the guy that started Maxtrax, told me years ago that he was amazed that guys started using them with larger trucks and that the original concept was only ever for his little Crewcab ute and Landcruiser sized cars.
BTW Brad was just a local surfer who used to get bogged on his way up to Double Island Point so came up with the idea.........look how far that idea has come in the last 5 years!!!!

hello all
absolutely can use them for the fuso. i have an 08 fg with camper and got myself out of a jam last year with one rear wheel literally sliding off the road. i was sitting on my underbed tool boxes. i was able to double them up and with alot of work and got myself out. i dont beleive i would have to been able to without thses. the bottom line is these things are very strong and flexable. i weight in at over 12k pounds and these things held me up (doubled up) i had some rocks stuffed under them as well.
im very happy with them and recommend them. there light weight and easy to store on the outside camper wall.

Hard to know whether this is showing success or failure???
My criteria for success would include succeeding with the device being in a usable condition for the next time and I'm not sure they are suitable for bridge use with these sort of vehicles loaded to expedition readiness..

I've had a set of 4 for 3 years and used them (never more than 2 at a time) with my 5.2 metric tonne EC a few times. Every time was in mud. They have been excellent. Low tech, no internal power source required, safe to use, light weight, nothing to corrode, no on-going maintenance, 1 person operation. Have never used them for bridging though! But I guess if I was desperate enough, then you do what you need to do!
