Mean Green alternator with NL Dual Batt kit?

For those of you running the National Luna Dual Battery set up, are you also running your stock alternator?

I have the Mean Green 140 amp alternator for my 3FE and don't know if this will cause a problem with the NL kit. The solenoid is recommended for 85 amp continuous and 400 amp max, and I'm just hoping there won't be a problem.

Somebody with bo staff skills, computer hacking skills, or alternator/dual batt skills would be greatly appreciated.

This answer would be helpfull to me too. I've got to decide on stock or Mean Grean for my 3FE, and I'm considering the National Luna system.

Ok, here's the info straight from National Luna.

The answer to your answer is simply this :
It doesn't matter how much amperage you have available. A battery will
take what it wants, you cannot give current. That is a simple but
crucial electrical law. Generally, a lead-acid battery will not take
more that 25% of it's rated capacity in amps. This is not always the
rule but most of the time this is true. ie- a 100Ah battery will demand
only 25Amps for the bulk of it's charge. It might peak when charging
first starts, but it will drop off.
As always there are exceptions - you might expect slightly higher charge
currents with AGM batteries or advanced gel batteries.
The solenoid is capable of handling more current than that alternator
can deliver - trust me !
I would however rather use a 100A fuse in place of the 50A one. In hot
ambient temperatures, this might blow unexpectedly.
I hope this has answered your question sufficiently.
Kind regards
