Yes I'm looking at a 20ft regular height container, by my calculations it should go but it will be a tight fit! I think maybe 6 inches max clearance all round. My worry is that with ship movement and suspension play it could make contact with the container walls. Is there anyone on here with first hand experience?

There won't be any suspension play - part of securing the vehicle to the container should include strapping it down inside the cube, and usually that's done by connecting to the frame, etc. and compressing the suspension. Bigger question for a 6" clearance is to make sure you have a plan for ingress/egress. Will you be able to climb in/out of a rear door, for example?

Instead of making special shipping wheels why not just buy a spare set of steel rims and install them without tires. You could also use your rims and throw the rubber back on when you unload.

The idea of the flat disc shipping wheels is that they are easy to swap over and don't take a lot of space up to store. Driving on regular steel wheels without tires could damage the bead sealing area and would be a real hassle. Should be easy to get a set of flat discs water jet or laser cut and then some simple way of attaching a little rubber around the edge (safety wire, nuts and bolts etc.
