Middle of summer, lets talk about snow!

It all depends on snow conditions. With reasonably compactable snow, large tires at LOW air pressures it doesn't really matter how much snow there is. Slope is generally the thing that stops you. You either can stick to the sidehill or can't make it up a steep enough slope. In the right conditions and terrain you can go some really amazing places....

Snow bashing in the west desert. Snow was deeper than my tires which consisted of street tires in the rear and bald MTs in the front. Warning: turbo diesel porn.

Single track, and another vehicle was coming down the hill. Knowing we could always winch ourselves out if need be, we drove up on the snowbank to let the other rig go past. Ended up not being able to drive out of it, so we winched.

The only time I drove in snow, I found out my 4wd didn't work in my 4Runner. Then I traded it for a Jeep.

Reviving a dead thread here :)

I get made fun of by my wheeling friends for being a snow whore, and I'm not ashamed :D

I like 'Snow Angels' made with the doors, especially when you have 4-6" + of lift!

From driving in to the cabin:

It really drifts over good down by the bridge.

We also do an annual Ice Race every Feb:

Some years, it's more of a 'Snow Bog' than a race!

Found snow when I went out on the weekend. And no mocking the crappy snowman. It was like +2 and windy as ****, and I was freezing.

Went up to Mt. Rainier a couple weeks ago, there was some snow on a pulloff just off the road. I was driving my friend's 2010 F150, and I decided to give it a try. Put the truck in 4hi slammed it and after about 9' the truck stopped and it was stuck haha. Couldn't get it out ourselves and a female park ranger ended up giving us a tug. My buddy was so pissed at me bc he hates dealing with law enforcement, he abides by every little stinkin' rule. The park ranger asked me why? and I said I just wanted to see if it would make it. She kept her serious face on and said we were lucky to be on pavement bc if it had been on dirt she would've ticketed us.

I'm actually surprised she gave you the tug. On this side of the country, you might have been lucky to get the number of a tow truck but then there is a whole lot going on between NPS and OHV types out this way.

Man o man I love snow! It turns easy trails into challenging trails!

Got a little stuck somewhere around Utah Lake, Utah

And another spot by Utah Lake, but this was a little bit of ice we broke through and got stuck

And as sad as it is I was stuck here at Big Bear Lake in the GL. 60 horsepower was no match for a few inches of snow
