jkowners and jk-forum will both have classifieds. Saw a beautifully built JK (and built right) on 37s that was going for less than 40k (I can't remember the exact price - just that I was shocked at how low it was). So every now and then you can find deals on something. But your best bet is just checking out auto trader or CL (that's if you're looking for a used one). Just remember the difference in the model years, and that a pre 2012 you'll want to do an engine swap.

This is true. I saw a built JK for sale not too long ago for an extremely reasonable $30k. So yeah, just keep your eyes open and use common sense.

I didn't know anyone had successfully put the CRD 3.0 into the JK...

Does anyone have a build thread or details on that?

Thanks,
-Dan

I have seen one on a JK. It was the silver 4door that Jeep did a few years back. I heard the 3.0 benz diesel caused a conflict with the factory JK steering box position and the box had to be relocated. Computer wise I think everything matches up well enough in that year range.

Interesting, thanks. I wonder if there is a build thread or more details somewhere.
I'd be interested in how it drives, mileage, etc.

I will sell you my 2008 Jeep Grand Cherokee Diesel with the same 3.0L diesel for $55,000 and I will even leave the doors on.....no snorkle though....

:sombrero: Way to much money--

I'd buy a new 2013 JKU and for a few dollars more a JKUR (Rubicon) and start out with the best/w warranty, or

Get a used 07/10 JKUR--do some good regearing, minor mods and you can do just about everything the new ones do,including get good mileage--plus be well under $35K !

Could be pretty tough emission troubles to !

Don't worry about the pre 2012 3.8L v6---great engine/w over 20 years good history--Chrysler just combined it with some lousy gears and an auto tranny that just needs tweaking !

Keep your 911--good stress reliever !

Good luck

i only know of one that has been done and it was buy burnsville back in 08. when I talked to them about it they wouldn't give much details but stated that it wasn't cost prohibited and the steering box was an issue.
