Mileage Question

In search of used van, specifically the E-series from Ford. For a V8 motor, what kind of mileage should i stay away from? This is not going to be a daily driver, but i do want it to last a while. In the price range i'm looking at it seems 150k seems about average. Thanks for the help!

When you say V8 do you mean a 4.6? 5.4? Or the earlier 5.0/5.8. All of them are great engines. I've seen them go 500k or more, I've seen them fail at 200 or less. The good thing about the late model Ford engines is that the worst case scenario is a replacement and they can be found pretty cheap all the way to full rebuilds with warranty.
