I thought I'd start a thread to document the rather slow conversion I'm doing to my van.
Purchased it 2 years ago, in September of 2017. I had helped a friend of mine get a van about 6 months before, so that got me thinking about them. I had had Subaru wagons for many years before buying this beast.
Down the rabbit hole I went of 4x4 van conversion, and came to the conclusion that Ford was the answer. In October of 17, I was scheduled for shoulder surgery to finally fix my dislocating shoulder. And since all I owned at the time was manual transmission vehicles, I decided it was a great time to buy a van with an automatic! On to Craigslist I went, and back I came with a 2002 E350 cargo, extended body, 6.8L V10, with 242k miles. All for the low price of $1200! No frame rust anywhere, with only a tad bit of body rust under the shelves in the back of the van. I took off the ladder rack, shelves, bulkhead, and sold them on CL. Now I was in the van for about $950!
This is the first vehicle I've named, but it was rather appropriately named. When I got it, it had a hole in one of the throttle body hoses, which caused the van to "twerk", as my aunt put it, at stoplights. It's white, and it used to twerk, so it got named Miley.
