I just wanted to show some detailed pictures of the Comm Shelter. Ive been wanting to do this build for a year now but time has not been on my side with over 3000 hrs worked last year and about 50 or so days actually home last year. I will work on modifying the Military trailer that will carry her on Monday. The fenders need to be trimmed inside. I will take plenty of pics. :victory:

where did you find the comm shelter? also, how much does it weigh?

Im not sure how much it weighs. I have found weights on the web to be 730 lbs. to 850 lbs.. I have stripped mine down to the bare box. No more shelves or racks. Those must have weighed in at just over 120 lbs with all the lights and wireing ect. I am guessing now that I think about it that it comes in at around 650 lbs.

I'm thinking I need a trailer like yours rather than cobbling together the bits that ive got. It would be perfect behind our 3/4t Suburban. Ill have to keep an ear to the ground for one. I that a US 101? Is there a model designation for an 8 lug over a big 6 pattern?

I believe I have 2 of the HMVEE trailers M101A3 and 4 M101A2 plus one of the older 5 lug ones. Whats cool about the 8 lug versions is that you can mount the same rims and tires that are on your 8 lug Suburban!
