Military Trailer in Illinois

Looks like a Pioneer Tool trailer. I drove by it yesterday, but did not have time to stop and look closer. It looked clean. Hard to find these, CDN101 and M416's in Illinois. I called the owner he said it was a 1960 with an Illinois Title. I found it later on Craigslist

Yep, that’s a M116 Military Pioneer tool trailer. hard to find for sale. Pioneer tool trailers are built on the 3/4 ton M101.

I have M116A Pioneer and it’s a great trailer. Mine was built in 1978 and is a little longer than the one on CL for sale. You can tell the older ones by the length of the box. The older ones don't fit the trailer frame completely. Older Pioneer tool trailer look to have a rack built on the front and back of the trailer and are a ½ round shape. The newer ones are a full 8’ box and have a flat spot on top.

3/4 ton M101A1 weighs about 1300 empty and a newer M116A Pioneer tool trailer weighs 1689 empty. The body on the Pioneer tool trailer is so tough you could hit it with a sledgehammer and not dent it!! Really!.

Again, very hard to find trailer.
