I didn't have bad luck, someone else who I knew and did not listen to my advice did, then had to replace a lot of worn parts .
I lift everyone I do the right way, no short cuts/ never cheap out. Have done it that way since I lifted my first Jeep back in 1974 and have never had an issue since on any of the 19 4 wheel drives I've had.

Good luck with your project .

Good for you. My jk has a teraflex spacer lift on it and I'm at 140k on it now. glad I used the wrong stuff. Or else i would be out lots of money for the right stuff. My jeeps are ****. Yep. Don't work worth a damn and fail everytime out in the outdoors. My jeeps are wheeled 3-5 times a week, with no failures or adverse handling, wear, or anything of the sort. As I said, 100k in a little over a year on my pat with the rro lift and 140k in 3 years this week on my jk unlimited with teraflex spacer lift. No issues. I guess your friends goto an incompetent mechanic. My gear works as advertised.

I just purchased five OEM Jeep 16" black steelies, newly offered this year for the Patriot Sport, and have five Cooper Discoverer A/T3s (215/70R16) on backorder with Discount Tire Direct. I am not planning on lifting my Patriot and I did not want to roll the will-it-rub-dice on the tire size - I feel the 215s will work perfectly for me with the higher profile on 16" wheels.

I purchased the RRO SuperSliders for my Patriot and am interested in the RRO Bumper assembly with brush bar, but am not convinced I need or want the winch just yet.

I have a Yakima MegaWarrior mounted on my roof and am now searching for the best lighting applications. Rigid Industries makes a 40" SR series light that would fit perfectly across the front of the MegaWarrior. I wonder how much spill would be present on the hood, versus a brush bar application of Warns perhaps.

Anyways, the Mini Overland Project article was outstanding - I purchased a subscription soon after reading it and lurking on the Expo. The contributions here are extremely helpful as well.
