Mini Pajero Spotted

Just thought I’d share a pic of this little beauty I saw a couple weeks back. I had a brief in-traffic chat with the owner. It’s a JDM import (obviously!).

It's a Shogun Pinin or Pajero io (maybe they were Pajero Pinin as well) depending on market, also came as a 5 door.

That one is a pajero Jr, bigger than the pajero mini but smaller than the pinin. They're super cool!

I wonder how that one is driving around "legally", I thought Pajero Minis started production in 1994.

There is a Kei truck loop hole in some states where you can rego it as a street legal side by side basically, not really legal but pretty legal. I think it even changes from city to city so you'd need to really know your local laws.

No wonder the 2nd tier Japanese manufacturers (MMC and Honda) have struggled over time... they make nearly as many versions of the same basic idea as GM and Chrysler did... at least they didn't put competing brands on them...
