Mitsubishi Montero - Best Traction Control System in the World!

Uploaded a short video clip demonstrating the traction control system on the 2003 Mitsubishi Montero. It's incredible. Much better than the Toyota A-Trac or Land Rover System. Very impressed! Thought you guys might enjoy it too.

It was incredible to watch! Smoothest system I've ever seen. I think it's more responsive than even the Land Rover traction system. Plus, it's stock. No buttons to push. It just works. There's no need for lockers in that rig (considering it will only be on trails and not a rock crawler). Even on my Tocoma I'm rarely using the rear locker with the A-Trac system (very effective).

It is a great system however it does have its limits if you use it enough and you will be pulling you hair out when you get in a tough situation and you overheat the system,....because it shuts off and beeps at you till it cools off. I second that it is amazing for mild wheeling though

If you arent spinning your wheels like a moron then it won't beep at you. That only happens when your trying to do donuts in mud or snow.

Are you able to turn the traction control off on the Montero? I drove a car once that had traction control that always overreacted, but I could just flick a switch and it would turn off then.

Yes, it does have disable switch. Although, I don't know if that is only for high range or low range also.

The switch disables the Stability Control, not the Traction Control....and ya you can cool it down,....just have to buy a locker....lolol:victory:

Lol...true to a point...I have had it kick in on long hill climbs and long trails here in east TN....and right at the point where I need it most on difficult obstacles.....so long story short I have a "Lincoln Locker" in the rear and an Aussie locker in the front....voila...problem solved.

I think more to a point, is it using specifically the ABS system and proportioning valves to do this job and I think the answer would be yes, no sense in having another system in the same line with the brakes and ABS, I imagine the ABS does both, control wheel spin while moving forward and wheel lock up while stopping?
