Bought this March of 09, had been sitting for almost 3 years.

Left it sit for another year while i worked on the wifes XJ. Finally got started with a "used, ran good when i pulled it" motor.
Swapped in some Dakota seats, build a center console and some bumpers and i was ready for the road. :)

Ran the guts out of it for the following year with big plans to come...Leaf sprung front end.
Picked up a Rodeo 44 w/4.10's and a wagonner 44 that i had to regear.

Got the front crossmember cut but left 1" attached and beefing it up a little with some 1"x1"angle. Waiting on my son to come over and help me get this thing back in place. hopefully by the weekend. :)

I always wanted and still want an MJ.... But finding one in decent shape and the owner not wanting a million dollars for it is another challenge in its own!

Why are you wanting leafs in the front?

The biggest reason is money...money is tight. Second biggest reason is less moving parts to worry with and ride can be adjusted by removing or adding leaves. I have right around 300.00 lifting it 6-7 inches.

Decided to cut notches in the bumper to keep the hi-lift from slipping.

Finish welding it up tomorrow night, paint saturday then bolted back on sunday.

Looking good amigo! Are you using the waggy leaves for the front? I have some wagoneer donor axles laying in my backyard and I was considering doing leaf sprung in the front to keep it simple as well.

Thanks for all the comments everyone. Yes im using stock waggy springs. They need adjusted because they put the jeep to high. I'm 5-11 and they put the hood at armpit height.
I'm also using UBE's in the rear so that would bring the back up to 6.5".

Got the winch in and bumper reinstalled. Next step is to get the topper back on and see how to set it up for camping.
