Nice. I'll be out there in May. I've done Golden Spike several times, not sure if we will do it this year or not...rather not beat up the corners of my "new" rig on the Crack.

BTW most folks run it the other direction so the tougher obstacles are climbs, but given that you were alone it is probably just as well. It is danged expensive to get towed out of there.

I thought about running it the other way. I don't think i would have broken anything. The drivetrain is pretty strong. As you can see on the Golden Crack. I was afraid I was going to break the front end there, but it held up very well.

The ledges and climbs after the Golden Crack were hard. When you run it from Poison Spider you can drop down those, I had to crawl up those, That was probably the hardest part of the trail.

We almost got lost a few times on the trail. There are parts that are not marked very well. I was very glad we had a map and all the trails in my GPS. It saved our bacon!

Yeah there are a couple of ledges I can think of that would be tough in reverse, like that one next to the tree that I hate going down. It's a tough trail either way. But doing the Golden Mile in reverse is easier.

I hit that tree going up. my grill guard paid the price, but saved the hood and headlights. I hope i can find that part, luckily it just bolts into the main center hoop!

Hoping next time I go, I will go the opposite direction and get some 33" tires, 4.10 gears, some rocker protection and an ARB rear locker. I really don't think I need to do much more. The truck is very capable in its nearly stock form.

Another obstacle that was marked in my gps as Buggy Challenge. I got high centered and had to deploy the winch.
