Awesome trip!

I too usually travel with just my girlfriend and myself. My pull-pal has come in very handy numerous times!

Once I get the time I look forward to heading out that way.

I don't really prefer to explore alone, but if that is how it works out it won't stop us from going. It is pretty easy to find people who want to go on adventures but finding people who can get 9 days off in a row and also have money for gas and toys is a real trick!

Very nice write up and pics. I've been into The Maze but not any other part of Canyonlands. Looking forward to visiting all of it.
The wife and I don't mind going out alone, but with others along, there is more of a sense of security.
Do you have a SPOT or any other device that you have for real emergencies?

Again, thanks for posting.

Looks like a lot of fun!

I can't wait to move west in a few years. These reports you guys out there write make me want to pack up and leave right now :smiley_drive:

Do you carry any sort of GPS unit while out there to "breadcrumb" your way around or are the trails generally marked well?

Also curious about how much gas you used while out there, that whole $5/gal thing is bananas :Wow1:

Very nice write up and pics! We've only been to the Maze so far, really looking forward to visiting the Needles and Island in the Sky districts soon. We've got plans to go back to the Maze in Oct. this year to visit The Dollhouse since it was unavailable last time. Thanks for sharing - looks like it was a fun trip. d :sombrero:

I thought about a spot before the trip. In the future I will likely get one but I hadn't done enough research to spend the money. We weren't out of cell coverage for longer than a couple of days at a time. Our families could have reported our general location if we failed to check in. I carry some thought out survival gear as well as an extensive medical kit. I am a professional rescuer so I have much more training than the average person. Plus I have seen Bear Grills eat bugs on discovery channel:sombrero:

We only took on 4gallons of the high dollar stuff. I should have filled all of the gas cans in Moab but I only filled 2 of them. Jeep got somewhere around 12mpg off road somewhere around 16.5 on the hwy fully loaded. Jeep is 4.0 with 33x12.5 and 4.56 gears.

Great pictures! The wife and I are planning a trip out that way next year... I always like seeing where people have visited, gives me my own ideas!

Thanks for taking the time to share.
