Moab, next weekend...

I'm taking down about 15 students to Moab for a weekend of exploring, hiking, camping and photoraphy. We'll be staying at the big BLM group campground down the Potash Road starting on Thursday.

Come by if you're in the area. We'll be in camp during the evenings, out shooting during the day (and early evenings...).

I'll have my BIG white Land Rover, there will be a silver XTerra, another SUV of undetermined make, and I think a few random normal cars sprinkled in.

We're getting an awfully special treat. Our guide will be a man who has been working on a 20+ year project documenting hidden ruins and rock art in the area. He knows all the secret spots I haven't even heard of, and that aren't on the map. He also happens to be my major professor and personal friend since 1990.

Ought to be fun. We're turning my truck into a working darkroom and will be making 8x10 inch glass-plate Ambrotypes.

i'll be scouting a canyon route around Moab next week, maybe i can swing by.
when's the ambrotype workshop, i havent done any of those since school.

I'm not sure exactly when we'll do the Ambrotypes. Probably Sat/Sunday.

If you're around and have some experience, the grad student that's doing them would LOOOVE to talk to you.

Come by anytime. I'm cooking in the evenings, and I plan to eat well. I can make a little extra for you.

I wish I was going down this weekend, but I won't be down there till the next (24-27).
