Montero snorkel template

BTW, I contacted Safari Snorkel and they're not necessarily interested in supplying the template since I was upfront and mentioned I bought the snorkel second hand... even if its a genuine Safari Snorkel...

Yup. Of course not. They're only interested in $$$. They'll be happy to ship you one if you buy a new snorkel LOL.

That said, I'm glad ARB supports mitsu 4x4's but this kind of stupid crap just p's me off.

Yikes! No worries man, responded to your PMs! Sucks about the accident too!!

Hey 94 Monster, I need to send your template back!!! DOH! I put it up on the top shelf of my parts rack and it got buried behind stuff.... found it before our trip!

Hike2Fish,

Are you needing a template or the whole snorkel? You can order a SafariSnorkel through TRDParts4U.com, call and talk to Jacque. I found mine second hand, a miracle itself. There are some fiberglass, crappier knockoffs on ebay.... good luck with those though. I've actually rested my truck on the main body of the snorkel once without failure, you couldn't do the same with the fiberglass.

Have you own any of the ones from Ebay?
If not how can you be a judge of their product?
I've own several and have had no problem with them. Many on here and 4x4 wire also own them. Never have I seen one break or crack. Being fiberglass it can be repaired, if it happens, unlike the plastic ones.

What Grasscat said.

Excuse the hell out of me.

Must I always back every statement I give with direct knowledge and experience?

Its the incessent remarks like yours and rays that has driven me to reduce my input on this forum. Excuse my childishness but its not worth my time.

Childish? Huh?

You're knock a product which appears you have no experience with. We're asking you to justify your remarks is all.

You also point out that you've leaned your rig on the snorkel without I'll effect. Was that full vehicle weight? 50lbs? 250lbs? 500 lbs?

Saying you've done that without any real quantifiable numbers is fine but you shouldn't get so defensive when we point out some obvious differences (dare I call them advantages?) between the two.

or maybe you're like me and haven't had any breakfast yet and get grouchy when you're hungry...

No of course not, but your statement "There are some fiberglass, crappier knockoffs on ebay.... good luck with those though" is not fair to those selling them?

If a person with unknown knowledge said don't use Scott Brown for a guide or his pictures are crap, that would be wrong, right?
I would have posted with the same response as I did above.

I'm sorry if I upset you Scott, but one of the Ebayer happens to be a friend.

By the way, I enjoy reading about your adventures, looking at you photos, your efforts to keep your Monereo alive and your willingness to help others. So don't think for a minute I have anything against you, I don't. Maybe if we're lucky we can wheel together someday and swap stories. At age 73 I have many.

Let's be done with this
