Thanks. I enjoyed how the house was constructed of limestone, but made to look like a log cabin.

Lucas is about 10 miles from Lake Wilson, where there's plenty of camping opportunities.

Brown v. Board

Today I went to the Brown v. Board museum administered by the National Park Service in Topeka, Kan.

The site is Monroe School. It was a segregated school for African American students.

I thought this was one of the most fascinating pieces on display.

It's one of the original dolls used to research the effects of segregation on African American children. I recall watching the scene about it years ago in the movie, Separate But Equal. (You can easily watch the scene on YouTube.) You can find a better description about the doll on the NPS website:http://www.nps.gov/brvb/learn/historyculture/clarkdoll.htm

That's about all there is to tell about it. It's a worthwhile stop, about three minutes away from I-70 if you find yourself in the area.
