More Mahindra News....

I was anticipating delivery in early 2009 too!

Makes you wonder what's really going on. Are the Mahindras not quite ready for prime time? Why would they absent themselves from the worlds largest truck market?

If it's this hard now, imagine what it's going to be like to get parts...

Odd, I've seen some around here before on truck trailers and such.

I've read speculation that the delay by M&M is designed to put the squeeze on the USA distributor GV USA. The goal is to get GV USA to give up their agreement with M&M to be the exclusive USA distributor. Then M&M could take control of distribution.

It looks like that plan runs the risk of costing M&M some significant money...
It all depends on what the contracts that were signed between M&M and the current US distributors entail, and the fine print.

I'm sure it's a tough situation financially for everybody involved - I wonder how much of the problem may have been caused by GVUSA, or if this legal action is a result of what GVUSA learned the last time around.

There are two driving around here in Aurora marked as test vehicles. I usually see them 2 or 3 times a month early in the morning when I'm heading to work. Not sure if I like the looks of them yet. But I do like the long bed on a truck that size.

I wonder how much of this is intentional, and how much of it is simply cultural.

By that I mean... I know that some countries do not put much stock at all in 'being on time' so they may feel that they were still within an acceptable tollerance of being on time for their delivery.

Example, I have a few friends who have lived in China, and I have heard multiple times that if you tell someone to meet you at 4PM they might show up anywhere from 3pm until 6pm. So with that much of a gap when it is a small thing, I could understand some thinking on such a huge deal that a larger gap might be expected.

Still... I do hope they come here. I would really like to see them, crawl around in them, and if others report well then I would buy one of the four door diesels.

I am one of many people sick of the drama but I too still hope they make it here and soon. Even with the drama and the unknown of the vehichle, I would still be willing to take the chance because no one else is willing to sell a diesel in this size. I will not buy another truck that gets 15mpg. My LR is the last one.
