Lol I just find it funny when people say the Raptor is a great trail truck. Don't get me wrong it's one capable rig but it's so wide and long that it's pretty much useless when things get tight. Then you've got the owners that think they own a trophy truck ready for baja. Hence the video.

Why would I drive a truck on a tight trail? I scrapped my Jeep YJ because it was boring. Different strokes for different folks.

So wide? The Raptor is 86.3" wide. Your Land Cruiser is 77.6" wide. Are you telling me that 8.7" in extra width (the width of a sheet of paper) makes a truck useless on the trail? A 2004 Tacoma is 70.3" wide....do Taco owners call your LC200 "useless on tight trails" because it's 7.3" wider? It's all relative. And most of it is in your head. There are tons of full size truck with big mud tires on positive offset that are way wider than a Raptor that make their way just fine on trails all over the US.

Same with length. Since the OP's topic was "most capable off-road pickup" a Supercab Raptor is no longer than a Regular Cab F250 or Ram HD or Chev HD or Titan. It's 17" shorter than a SWB Crew (not Mega Cab) Power Wagon. A Raptor is simply not longer than your average pickup. And pickups are what we are discussing here.

Idiot owners come with the territory on all off-road trucks. They think their truck will do anything. Usually it just means they get them good and stuck, but sometimes it makes for a spectacular crash. "Hold my beer and watch this" is not trademarked for use only by Raptor owners.

Clearly you've never spent time wheeling out east, my cruisers width is a liability on the trail I'm well aware of that. You can run a full size pick up if you want but don't expect to walk away without body damage, don't believe me? Ask Roudy who ran VOT in an excursion. Hell a long bed double cab tacoma is as long as an F150 and just as cumbersome. I'm just pointing out that full size trucks are too large to run on a lot of trails. But hey what do I know, keep cruising the mall in your suburban.

According to our resident expert, it's too long and too wide for real world trails.....it can only serve mall cruiser duty

Please show me where I'm wrong? Do you really think this thing could walk through the rubicon unscathed? Tell you what I'll pay your entry fee into VOT next year, if you finish in your suburban I'll eat my hat, if you don't then you pay me back.

It can prevent you, but if your rig is setup well, and you are a bit more careful, you'd be surprised how far you can get big vehicles.

I have done the Old Telegraph Track in Cape York (youtube it if you want). Not as difficult as the Rubicon, but if you do all the sections its not too far behind it - we thought we were doing pretty well in our small pickups (I was in my Ranger)...We get to a campsite, and there is a guy parked with an old 6x6 Acco (big old Australian truck used by the military - not small). There are also videos of people doing it with caravans (travel trailers). Yes, you may hit some body panels here and there, but to be honest you often do in a smaller rig too.

Maybe eat your hat first. If you win you can regurgitate it and have it back.

I'd think a 6x6 G-Wagen pickup with 37s and portals could do the Rubicon.

Lol I'll take it that you can't compete, and the G it would finish but not in the same condition in which it started.

The Sheer Weight on the G is insane pushing 4 tons it could try but still think on the rubicon its going to have serious problems manuvering and never less the size of it is like driving an off road bus.
