How do you judge reliability?
I have a 1995 Defender 90 with over 220k on it, it's reliable but sometime needs help but is extremely fixable in the field.
hey you can rebuild the distributor on the side of the road,a nd replace the panhard bush's in 20 minutes (also on the side of the road).. i could probably fix almost anything on it on a trip as long as i can get the parts. Otherwise, i'm just waiting on parts to show up.
basically i see all of that as normal maintenance stuff... and it does go on longer trips as well.

i've owned 3 LR3's (all 4.4 V8's, 06', 07' & 08') 2 were great, one not so much, and now a 2011 LR4 (5.0) so far, normal maintenance..it only has 67k on it and the timing chain is original.. but it doesn't owe me anything... if i need to do the chain guides or the injectors, ok.. normal stuff... kinda expensive but part of it.

All have had LCA's in the front go out, and all have had suspension leaks and bag failures to a greater or lesser degree..
but they are great trucks regardless. The l322 i had, was as well..

2 buddies use LR3's for overlanding and both of those have over 250k on them (one V8 and one V6) pretty much same stuff as above has happened to them..

But if your looking for something you only have to change the oil in and do normal scheduled maintenance, well that is what my 2017 200 series land cruiser is for.

idk.. my 2 cents for what it is worth
