Expedition Scout
SOLD Fully Equipped & Highly Capable Expedition Vehicle. Motivated to Sell to Build a New, Time Sensitive, Habitat Project With A/T Overland Equipment.

Vehicle Coming Back To US: I have a had a lot of interest from overlanders in the US, and will be showing the vehicle as I travel back from Calgary, Alberta to the Southwest US. Leaving early in October I plan to travel via Montana, Wyoming, Colorado, Utah, and Arizona before ending up in my JK's winter base in Las Vegas, Nevada. If I have not gotten back to you and your still interested, PM me with your location to see where we can meet.

Modified specifically for self-sufficient long distance overland travel in all types of conditions. Enhancement value: Suspension, Tires & Wheels: $20k - LS Engine & Trans Conversion $22k Axels, Diff. Housing & Drive Shafts $7k - Protective & Recovery $10k - Habitat Tent Flip-top, Camping Slide-outs, Hot Shower & Aux. Battery System 20k - See detailed list for breakdown.

Build started with Kilby Enterprise SEMA 2007 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon Unlimited and was followed by many enhancements to make it a highly capable and self-sufficient overland vehicle. Modifications total $85,000. We started with a Habitat flip-top tent hard top replacement that only adds only 190lbs. It sleeps four, although perfect for three, and that is why this dedicated expedition vehicle only has three seats. The rest of the space accommodates an electric fridge/freezer & propane stove slide-outs, 20.5 gallons of stored water, hot and cold tap/shower, A/T slide-out/pop-up storage cabinets, and tailgate drop-down table, 5 batteries (3 of which are small marine) & monitoring system. Front Corbeau BAJA reclining suspension heated seats. These plus factory air, crusie, tilt, pw, remote pl and navigation and satellite radio make the JK highly livable.

LS Crate Engine, 5.3 VVT & 6 speed automatic (20,000 miles ago), Terraflex Pre-runner long arm suspension & King reservoir shocks (38,000 miles ago), Factory Lockers & Disconnects, Superior Axles, Dynatrack ProRock 44 Housing with custom springs & drive shafts (21,000 miles ago), General Grabber 35 x 12.50 Tires (20,000 miles ago) on Jeep/Hutchinson beadlock rims. Complete Kilby undercarriage skid plate protection. Also underside, the ARB twin-air compressors with Kilby air tank & plumbing. Front equipped with Kilby recovery bumper, 12,000lb Warn winch & synthetic line while Poison Spyder Brawler Rockers protect the sides and the rear uses a AEV recovery bumper that holds 5 gallons of water and AEV synchronized tailgate swing-away to house a 10.2 gallon fuel caddy, Hi-Lift Jack, Pull-Pal winch anchor & full size shovel. Many more upgrades (see detail list).

The Kilby SEMA show vehicle was purchased at 23,000 miles and now has 73,500 miles, but all key components have been upgraded, most between 20,000 and 40,000 miles ago.

Professionally built and maintained as a dedicated Overland Frontier expedition scouting vehicle. Rather than pound my way through obstacles, I prefer finesse, because Overlanding is all about vehicle preservation. I'm out scouting a lot and as a result I'm alone 90% of the time, so having the best components that are kept in tip-top condition is very important. This vehicle has been field tested. Anytime something required improvement or adjustment to work harmoniously, it was done.

Normally I don't like worry about scratches because it takes the fun out of trail riding. But for the sale, vehicle just received a clear-coat to eliminate vehicle paint, tree branch, scratches picked up while on the trail.

It could be brought back to four seater. They may even still have the 2/3 set at AT. However, you would lose the hot shower, 10.2 gallon water bladder and the recovery equipment storage box shown in pics. The hot water exchange unit sits behind the passenger seat. If you removed that permanently, you could unbolt and remove the storage unit/bladder and bolt in seat, when you need to add passengers.

This is a VERY capable very nice rig if anyone is interested. Roger has done a very nice job putting this together and I am now looking forward to see what is next for him.

I have to talk the Mrs. into it and sell my LJ... I will call A/T and see if they still have the 2/3 seat. Thanks Roger.

From the headline I was expecting something sketchy, but this thing is sweet! Seems like the price is very fair too. GLWS
