MS Streets & Trips on Acer Netbook? PROBLEM SOLVED!
I have an Acer Aspire One netbook that I would like to use with MS Streets & Trips. I'm fairly competent with a computer but FAR from proficient.
I don't have an external DVD/CD drive to load the software and am having problems. I've used my desktop PC to load the disks to a 4 gig memory stick and can load the first disk without a problem. But when I try to load the 2nd (data) disk the wizard asks to re-insert disk 1 and I can't get the computer to recognize the disks through the memory stick. I've even tried to load the disks on two separate memory sticks without success. I have, however, loaded numerous other programs in this same manner without a problem.
I saw this in another thread. I think off-roader was referring to his Acer Netbook when he references "laptop":
Would this be a better option? How would I set that up?
Any help you can offer would be appreciated. I'm trying to make this work without spending additional money.

FWIW, I'm also running MS Streets & Trips 2009 using the same laptop. Both Topo CA & MS S&T fit on one 8GB Class 6 (i.e. fast) SD card. Since it's pretty much a read only app, I have no fear about wearing out the card prematurely w/ excessive writes.
