Multi Desert Trip CA AZ NV

Just got back from a multi desert trip with a rotating cast of charcters. The trip included the Mojave Road and Joshua Tree which I did not attend. Then Anza-Borrego, Yuha Valley, near the Salton Sea and a portion of the Bradshaw Trail, Imperial Wildlife Refuge, KOFA Wildlife Refuge, various dirt past Swansea Town and the Bill Williams River up to Kingman on the way to Vegas for SEMA, then up to Logandale for the Hump n Bump event, and finally a slow meander back to Phoenix via as much dirt as possible.

I meant to throw out a few teaser pics before a full write up but even that is getting out of hand, so this may take a few days. If you were a part of any portion of this trip, feel free to throw in at any time.

Next was a portion of the Bradshaw Trail to take us into Blythe.

A souvenir along the way.

Another odd site that none of us could quite figure out.

After stocking up on necessities in Blythe and gas in AZ we headed towards our destination on the KOFA Wildlife Refuge. Before that, we would enjoy a drive and camping along the Colorado River as well as a nice adventure through the Imperial Wildlife refuge just to get there.

Ahh... life is good.

OK, I see your "Less is More" comment at the bottom, but your "Less" left me wanting "More"! I was enjoying looking at the pics and I was hoping to there were more. Regardless, looks/sounds like a great trip.

OK. More on the way.

Good pictures, fun traveling with you.

Thanks. Great to meet and travel with you as well. You got all my pics up to Vegas yes?

So we all had to dip our wheels in the Colorado River...

Then it was on to the Imperial Wildlife Refuge.

I had a successful experiment making pizza on a Cobb Grill.

Hey, you were in my old stomping grounds. Hope you had fun passing though it. Did you all cross though where we went camping back in 09?

Looks like it was good time.

It was a great time. Thanks for giving me at least a bit of firsthand knowledge of the area. Since we went backwards from my previous trip with you, I was never really very sure of anything. Fortunately, the guys had great GPS maps, as usual.

That thing's a boat mold. When we saw it we figured someone thought it would be funny to drop in the middle of nowhere. No easy task though!

The next day brought a nice sunrise...

...and we were off to Hoodoo wash and the Wilbanks cabin.

We worked our way back to pavement and Luis had to take his leave from the group. The remaining participants were off to Palm canyon for the night.

Sunset didn't pan out but the evening light on Palm Canyon was very nice.

Sorry for the lack of updates. Had to spend a few days at that job thing I have.

After KOFA we found some mostly dirt routes towards Las Vegas.

Heading from Quartzsite to Bouse.

Heading to Swansea.
