My 47 bantam tc3

Well it appears I became the proud owner of a 47 bantam. In really great shape for I thought a great price. I am picking up this weekend. I will post pics on here and will have the normal 10k questions lol. I am excited. I had a gobi rack on order but canceled when I landed on this last weekend. I think I will be much happier with a trailer instead of the roof rack for my Jeep. I will post up pics once I grab it and will always be open to ideas. I am going to attempt jscherb (Jeff) hitch DIY design. We will see. Ideally it will be a equipped with an RTT and gear. I still plan to outfit the back of my Jeep with a fridge and drawers. When not using the RTT I will haul my canoe and looking at kayak and paddle board as well. Exciting times. Anyways I am done rambling. More to come after this weekend. Oh first up having to get wiring harness on Jeep. Forgot I didn't have that.

Welcome to the club!.... I've got one myself and there's tons of people here who have them as well.. Look through all of the build threads!

Does it have the original axle or has it been switch out? I have an M100 and I'm changing my axle out and looking to run 255/75R17's to match my JKU. Looking to do much the same as you've described. I've found some pretty neat canoe rack designs that I'm considering. I want to be able to use the original tarp cover that goes with it. Trying to engineer an extendable tongue that won't interfere with the hand brake also. Been working the plans up for a couple of months, but as soon as it warms up here in MN I intend to but it out in time for a visit to Glacier.

Good luch with your project!

It has the original axle. The seller did a cosmetic restoration on it. I leave in the am to go pick it up. Unfortunately the Jeep funds are on life support now so it will be a slow going build to it but I have lots of ideas of how I want it to look. Here is a photo of it right now. The top wood panels will be removed and I plan to get a lid for it and probably yakima racks to mount a RTT and also to use for Kayak and Canoe. I got the tags for it today and am all set as far as picking it up. I am excited to see where this takes me.

Good find, looks nice. BTW the Jeff hitch works great. I made one and have been using it for 2 plus years with no problems

So it appears after not getting too far on my trailer here I have switched gears and got a great deal on an ecotrek trailer. I will be picking it up next Monday. Now the decision becomes of what to do with the bantam here. On one hand I would love to keep it but the realist says it will just sit and collect dust and not get used. Decisions decisions. I will say however outside of the tires which I'll deal with the ecotrek looks fun and I am excited to see where it takes me and my family.

This is what it looks like. I'll be taking lots of photos once I get it. Just a short 6 hr drive to grab.
