My 91 monty build *6.0 soon to come*

Hey guys, been on here a while and figured I'd throw my build up here. I originally built a beautiful 87 4runner but she was stolen a couple years ago. That kept me out of the game for a couple years but I finally jumped back in.

I acquired my 91 LWB 3.0 5spd monty about a year ago from VA. I've done a few things like add a bumper, winch, body lift and 35" cooper stt pros. Currently I am preparing an lq9 6.0 to go in, should be interesting.

Sorry about the late bump!

I have done a few things to my montero over the last year. Fuel injectors, water pump, intake gasket, etc... mostly trying to get what i can from the 3.0.

I recently installed a 3" 4crawler body lift, it was extremely easy and has allowed me to fit 35s with no rubbing.

Did a front bumper and I'm currently making the platform for the winch. Then I will make a matching rear bumper

I have freshened up the braking system with new calipers, pads, etc...

I grabbed some parts off of a donor vehicle such as a full interior, doors, fenders, trim pieces. I plan on installing the nicer parts this winter.


The 6.0 is currently getting ready for the install and hopefully that goes in within the next couple months.

Thanks! I'll have more up vert soon, getting an interior ready to go back in. And I'm going to convert my KCs to LED.

the crank pulley looks like it might give you trouble.
its gonna be tight.
aint sayin it cant be done but u will have to get creative!

Still sourcing parts for the motor swap. Waterpump, crank and intake are coming from a car lsx so they are a bit smaller and should give me a tad bit more room.

Looks like I'm gonna end up using a th350 I have lying around for now. Eventually a 4l60 or 80 will be taking its place. All I need to do now is grab the conversion flywheel and engine mounts, then the fun really begins.
