My adventures, wrenching and outfitting an 03 disco dubbed 'Chanel'

Figured I start a thread to chronicle my adventures and wrenching/outfitting a Chawton White 2003 Disco II. I dubbed her 'Chanel' since she's a little fancy, always spends my money and definitely high maintenance.

The day I brought her home summer 2014

Bought her from a couple down in Woodbridge CT, a soccer mom used to drive her around and just purchased a brand new one.

Got to cracking on the major service list that disco mike posted with the help of my buddy AJ who rocks a disco I.

Then tried her out at the old missile launch 'nike site' in Manchester, CT….works well

Jojo the dog, loving this thing and the low windows

Trail riding in Middletown, CT two weeks later…little muddy

Of course she wanted to drive and now she's hooked too

My favorite pic of the day

So next on the agenda was to source parts based on functionality and making this thing unstoppable

Found a used OME HD lift kit and TJM winch bumper for a sweet deal on disco web

Someone at UPS was being a ******** and stuck seven, yes SEVEN un-peelable stickers on it during shipping

much more to post, I leave you with the next stop

Congrats on the disco.. They are lots of fun surrounded by a hood group of people! A disco was my first entry to off roading and overlanding! Be sure to check out SCARR for a fun week in Texas!

Quick breakdown of the Muddy Chef Challenge
-all land rover event
-camped out at the famous Lime Rock Park (God I love waking up to the sound of porsche engines roaring and the smell of race gas :elk grin: )
-cooking contest which proved to be a great time
-trail ride through the old logging trails in NY
-visit to the Crown Maple Estates
-trip to Orvis Sandanona for the land rover obstacle course
-Plus it was sponsored by Harpoon and American Harvest vodka - count me in!

Orvis:

Drooled over this defender for a while, owner was a stand up dude

Obstacle course

First on the scene to a series that tipped over due to a top heavy roof top tent, got it back up with virtually no damage, these rovers can take a beating

The photographer for the event captured my favorite pic of the day

She ran the course too, the instructor Gene definitely gave us a crash course on off roading and what the rover is capable of

Off to the Crown maple estates for drinks and hors d'oeuvres

this 90 was a beast

back at camp
Gene's disco II

harpoon on tap

Couldn't be more proud of her, she won 2nd in best entree and a gift certificate to Atlantic British (which of course I helped her use) :26_7_2:

On the logging trails

Got a bunch more footage on the good camera, when I quit being lazy i'll get those up.

Overall fantastic event, definitely will be back next year

until next time I leave you with Jojo the dog wondering where we're going next

Check the rebound/compression on those shocks btw, that's the older generation that hasn't been made in a few years

Nice truck!

That white disco is so clean. Wow. Great looking disco. I wish they had events like that near me.
