This is the trim I am inquiring about. The popup section is the part of this build that has me the most perplexed.

That trim piece is proprietary to FWC, but they will sell it to you. You need to be within driving distance though, not terribly practical to ship the couple of 20' long pieces you'll need. I made a trip out and bought all of the trim I needed in one trip, but I'm only 2.5 hour drive from them.

Hey, thanks for the early help and advice on the camper. I asked a lot of questions. It helped out. I built mine late april - early july 2017.

Sits beautifully on the truck, handles great on rough roads.

Shell only (panelled, carpeted, all trim completed), with only a couch/bench inside. Came in at about 600 lbs. I will eventually add a heat source (thinking a wood stove, but still considering all the options - yes I am considering propane too) along with a small sink, propane stove (thinking a combined stainless steel SMEV unit). it's got a queen bed dimensions above the cab, and the couch/bench folds down

I will do a build thread of my own - but thanks for being willing to share information!

Yeah, I just picked up the trim and got it home. I live 45 minutes away so it worked out really well. I've made a ton of progress and should be done in the next couple weeks. I'll put up new photos tomorrow. Thanks for all the great comments.

How do you like the struts on the side? I have a Phoenix where I cannot mount struts on the front so was thinking doing it on the sides instead. What's the length and strength of the struts you used?

Found a brand new Jackknife Couch from an RV Dismantler, perfect fit and $200.

Blue Sea distribution block, good stuff.

Water Tank in, and plumbing run including a stubout to the outside with a quick-connect for my portable tankless waterheater that hangs on the outside.

SMEV Sink with collapsible faucet inside.

Roof frame welded up, with MaxxAir fan opening

Trimmed counter, plywood with 3 coats of countertop paint. All interior siding up.

Roof skinned with aluminum

Wiring completed for LED mini can lights and fan.

Electrician buddy came over and bent some 3/4" EMT for my lift pipes as seen in another thread on WanderTheWest.

Attaching the roof went surprisingly smooth. With the exception of remaking one of the lift tubes due to a measurement error, they work great. With the addition of the 30lb 36" struts it lifts and lowers effortlessly. I still have to add my solar panel to the top which shouldn't increase much effort. Tuesday the sideliner goes up and the finishing of the roof trim ring. Then re-mounting the struts. Its crunch time with my 3 week Western States flyfishing trip on October 2nd. If there's problems with the liner application Ill be taping a tarp up on the sides!

Very nice! I've got help coming this morning for setting my roof on my FWC. It won't be so light, I made the standard type lift panels out of ACM composite material and I have them riveted to the roof. Didn't want to do the work upside down. Hope it goes well. My first trip is planned for the 22nd of Oct.
