My first 4Runner...

Hi guys, I just picked up my 1st 4runner last night its an 86'. I love it... the wife so much but I hope it will grow on her as I clean up the interior. 20k on rebuilt 22RE, manual 5, everything stock except a leveling lift in the rear (looks like it sagging because its got front and rear bumpers in the back), rancho adjustable in the front, and 33'' tires. Interior is all there just.... dirty... =)



Ill be posting more pictures as I clean it up and Im sure I will have some questions as I move along.

Very nice! Interior cleans up well by removing all the carpets and seats and then using some soap and a power washer to push all the dirt out. I've done a couple interiors like that and they look great going back in.

It looks great! Nice find on a Medium Blue one. '86 was the last year for that color.

The early 4runners have the front fenders cut higher than the back ones so people often think the back end's sagging, even though that's how they looked brand new from the factory.

I need to find a rear driver side tail light... did some internet searching and I can only find sites that push me through a billion different searches. Any suggestions?

The lens only or the entire light assembly?

I've had the best luck with parts like that on Ebay. I got some low-priced taillight lenses there and they haven't had any of the fading issues many people warn about.

Thanks. Im gona check out the local Sacramento salvage yards also.

Does anyone have any pictures of how the e-brake cable is attached in the rear of the car? The ebreak on mine is all there, just the cable is hanging down in the rear and I don't know how its supposed to be adjusted/attached.
