I am going to try to finish the rest of the Arizona series and maybe a few here and there in other states...having a blast...

We just got done watching Last Man Standing with a round of beers.

My club is holding a race up your way Scott, at Camp Wood (Sheridan Mountain)...I think we are heading up that way to work on the course in March. The race is April 22.

Todd Davis the president of AMRA, http://amraracing.com/ just got done telling how good the trail riding is up in Prescott. I have only ridden the Yankee Doodle and the Bee trail up there.

I'll let you know when I come up, maybe hook up for a trail ride?

Nice work! 1st on your second race is good living. Hare Scrambles are such a blast. I raced Hare Scrambles in district 14 for quite a few seasons and managed to just miss 1st for the season by a couple of points on the last season that I raced. Its been so long now that I don't even know if they follow the same format. It used to be 3 hours on tracks that incorporated bits of motocross tracks with everthing from two tracks to single track sections. I really dug the dead starts too. For some unexplainable reason I almost always managed the holeshot and really seemed to have a nack for firing er up and getting to the first corner. My trick was that I used a milk crate that I stood on so that I basically just dropped down onto the bike kicking it over while holding the clutch in and usually 2nd selected.

To say that I miss that sport would be a huge understatement. There was great competition and comraderie, at least in my district and was an absolute blast. I campaigned motocross as well and raced the Silverdome Supercross 4 times as well, but to me, the hare scrambles were the most fun. I really found the single tracks and technical challenges in the woods to be fun. I've been debating getting a bike again for the past several years but have been keeping it on the back burner since I have a big interest in road racing my car right now and can't even afford that hobby alone.

Good luck with any upcoming events you might have.

I would say that course was 70% single track, mixed with sand washes and a little jeep road.

That particlar one was not a dead engine start. I have been practicing those anyway.

I was invited to do the one in Laughlin,NV but the entry fee alone is $475, since it is a national. I just dumped money in the bike, plus taxes, and my house. So no Laughlin for me.:(

Hey Kermit, I never got to tell you at the race, but way to go man! :bike_rider: That was awesome! Josh is pretty hooked on the AMRA too. I'm gonna give it a go after the 500 as well.

Thanks man! It was a blast, I am working the next one ,so no racing for me, but, I am running sweep, so I still get to ride...;)

Brian you're the guy with the beard right? Getting that Zuk' way over in special nEds class?....or the guy on the XRL650 I accidently roosted with that black mud?...still feel bad about that....

I was thinking of asking Josh to do the Laughlin scramble with me...but...money got a little tight this month...did a complete over haul on the 300.

Here is a picture of my empty wallet...waiting on two little damn parts!

That's me on the DRZ with the beard. I do have an XRL, but at the Neduro class that was a woman. Can't remember her name, but she was a trooper! I might race the Camp Wood race, but likely not. I don't want to risk an injury before the 500. Let us know when you're coming up here to do your scouting...

I know of that woman, there was another guy on 650. I roosted him when we were in those black rocks. I think Mike knows him.

I am not sure what weekend I am coming up there...still up in the air. I'll let you know.
