El Gringo Spectacular!
Bummer....

Well, my ride will have to be postponed....:(

Had the wonderful experience of dislocating my right ankle last Sunday, and while, since I have a history of ankle injuries, it isn't as bad as it could be...(I didn't have to manually reduce it myself), it's in no shape to be in a moto boot for 20+ hours.....

But it is a nice shade of black, purple, and yellow.....

Sometime in the near future, then....

Hate to hear that. Though it sounds like you have a handle on the situation. I will be watching for when you do complete your ride.

I've got some friends I ride with occasionally, I asked them if they were going to the ST1300 rally in Redmond Washington, Ray said yes, they would ride up from Elk Grove Ca to Wash. in (1) day. I asked Ray what are you doing an Iron Butt, Ray said no it was only about 800 miles. They ride two up and consider 800 miles an easy ride, so whats the big deal with doing 1,000 miles.

The last 200 miles.....

Seriously....that is another 3 hours on top of a 15 hour day. Though, from everything I have heard and read, the ST1300 can do 1000 miles blindfolded. It was built for that kind of mileage. Some other bikes are a little harder on the rider.

But 1000 miles in 24 hours on ANY bike is an accomplishment.
