My Ford Bronco Build Thread

I am currently building my Bronco for Expedition use. I love this forum/website and it inspired me to turn my build direction this way, then with a little luck I will relocate back home (Mesa, AZ) and spend the rest of my days bummin around the great southwest!

So far I am collecting parts, I have the truck, Front Dana 60 from an 87 Ford Dually. It is a Kingpin axle with the Dually Hubs on it. I went with the Dually hubs becasue I want to run stock H1 rims. (See pics) I also have an onboard air system, I need an onboard shower, but have the plans for that all worked out.

The roof rack is being built currently it will hold supplies and hopfully a RTT, I have the fridge (ha ha ha) and of course the rear Dana 60 (although it was just sold on eBay and a Sterling 10.25 is on its way)

I DO NEED a Fold down rear seat like in a Ford Bronco Centaurian if any one has one to sell.

So far so good, I will be updating this thread with new info as I go along so I hope you enjoy and your comments and guidance are more then welcome.

I love the looks of the 12 bolts when they aren't re-centered. Can't wait to see more! :Wow1:

I have a 97 F350 CCLB 4x4 currently in the build and have also been interested in the HMMV wheels and tires. I did not want to do recentered rims and also do not like the idea of spacers.

But . . . I had not thought about the oem dually spacers, great idea TKSC01. What are your plans for the rear? Dually 10.25" Sterling?, D60 with spacers?

As for rear seats. The current F250/F350 CC seats fold forward and flip up for storage underneath. A better idea might be to look at Tahoe, Explorer, Expedition seats, they are narrower (fit between the wheel wells) and roll all the way forward which would really open up your cargo space.

Dually spacers, hmmm. Keep the ideas coming.

H1 Rims

The Dually hubs work out great but she is wide and mean now, so be prepareded for that, also you will need to run a 1/4" spacer for the front do to the centric being bigger then the inside of the hummer rim. However the rim is centered by the lugnuts. As for the rear I am going Sterling 10.25, I believe it is the same axle you have in your truck, and I think I confused you regarding the seat, I dont want it to fold down out of the way but fold back flat into a bed. The Ford 4 Door Bronco Centaurians' third row seat folded back to turn into a bed.

Truck Details

The truck I am currently considering building/daily driver is a 94 XLT Bronco with the 5.8 and the E4OD. However, I am hoping to find a Black and Tan Eddie Bauer of the same vintage and motor for the actual build.

Understood on the sleeper seat, kind of like below but narrower. I think your best bet would be to post up on Four Door Bronco.com for Centurion parts.

not sure the details, but the 4x4 vans use a similar seat, and there is someone making them for rear seat replacement for F250/350 for the guys hauling to act as a sleeper

Newly Acquired!

I have had a couple of requests for pics of the truck and in truth I hadnt posted them for a few reasons. THe Bronco I currently drive is a great truck BUT not the one I wanted to build. So thanks to the magic of internet forums a wonderful local Bronco lover reached out and offered me my newest (and probably last for a long while) Bronco. It is what I have been waiting for. Here are the pics. I hope you enjoy, please feel free to leave feedback.

Looks like a plenty good truck to start with. First thing's first, remove the nerf bars for some sliders, you could probably make some money on the euro tails and get some stockers back on easily.
